Cheapest Kratom Online: Real Price Per Gram, Compared

"Cheapest kratom" is the easiest search in this market to get wrong, because the number on the product page is not the number that matters. A $7.99 bag and a $99.99 bag can cost the same per gram, and usually the small one is far worse value. The only figure worth comparing is cost per gram, and almost nobody publishes it.

So we worked it out. Every price below was pulled from the vendors' own live product pages on 30 July 2026, powder to powder, and divided out by hand.

The short answer

At full price, Kats Botanicals is the cheapest per gram in the mid-size range and Kona Kratom is the cheapest at true bulk. Kraken Kratom is the most expensive at every size we checked — which matches what we say in our own Kraken review, where price is its weakest score.

Small bags cost roughly 80% more per gram

Look at the top and bottom of that table. The cheapest per-gram option is $0.160. The most expensive is $0.285. That is a 78% premium for buying in 28–35 g bags instead of in bulk, from the same vendors, for the same product.

Both entry bags land on $0.285 per gram almost exactly. That is not a coincidence so much as a market convention: the small bag is priced as a trial size, and you pay for the convenience.

This is the single biggest lever on what kratom costs you, and it has nothing to do with which vendor you pick.

The obvious caveat: buying a kilo to save money only saves money if you actually get through a kilo. Kratom is a plant product that degrades with time, light, and humidity, and a stale kilo is worse value than a fresh 250 g bag at any price. Buy the largest size you will realistically finish, not the largest size on the page.

What a coupon actually changes

Kraken is the priciest of the three at list, and it is also the only one of them we hold a discount code for — getketum, 15% off. It is fair to ask whether that flips the ranking. Here is the same Kraken column with the code applied:

The code closes most of the gap but not all of it. Discounted Kraken bulk lands at $0.187/g — still a shade above Kona's 500 g tier at $0.180/g, and still meaningfully above Kona's kilo at $0.160/g and Kats' 300 g at $0.167/g.

So the honest read: the coupon makes Kraken competitive, not cheapest. If lowest cost per gram is your only criterion, the code does not change the answer. What it does change is the calculation for someone who wants Kraken specifically — the AKA GMP qualification, the decade-plus track record, the breadth of the menu — and was put off by the premium. For that buyer, 15% turns a clear premium into a near-parity price.

We would rather say that plainly than pretend our own discount wins a race it does not win.

Capsules are the most expensive way to buy

Capsules are convenience packaging, and the markup is steep. Kona sells 350 capsules for $99.99 and 250 g of powder for $54.99. At a typical size-00 fill of roughly 0.5 g, those 350 capsules hold about 175 g — which works out near $0.57 per gram, against $0.22 for the same vendor's powder.

That is roughly 2.6× the price for the same plant, and the multiplier holds at larger capsule counts too.

Two honest qualifiers. Fill weight varies by capsule size and by how tightly a vendor packs them, so treat 0.5 g as an approximation and check the vendor's stated fill before doing this math on your own order. And convenience is a real thing to buy — pre-measured capsules remove the scale, the taste, and the guesswork. Just buy them knowing the premium is about 2.6×, not 10%.

Extracts and shots are a separate category again. They are concentrated, so per-gram comparison against leaf powder is meaningless — you are buying alkaloid content, not weight, and the only fair comparison is between extracts with published alkaloid percentages.

How to compare prices yourself

The math is one division, and doing it takes ten seconds:

Cost per gram = price ÷ grams in the pack.

Watch for the tricks that make that harder than it needs to be:

Shipping deserves a second look. A vendor that is a cent cheaper per gram but charges $12 to ship a 100 g order is not cheaper. Two of the three vendors here ship free on all orders; check the threshold before you assume.

Cheap and clean are different questions

Everything above ranks on price alone. That is deliberately only one input, and on our own scoring methodology it is the smallest one — price is weighted 20%, against 45% for testing and 35% for reputation.

The reason is that the failure mode in this market is not overpaying. It is contaminated or mislabeled product, and the cheapest gram on the internet is very often the one with no current third-party COA behind it. All three vendors on this page publish lab testing, which is why they are the only three we priced. There is cheaper kratom available from sellers we would not put in a table.

A reasonable way to use this page: decide which vendors clear your quality bar first, then use the per-gram column to choose among them. Not the other way around.
